Our Story
I want to create interesting and fun pieces for all sorts of people— for anyone that wants to add something unique to their creative personal style.
Yasara is inspired by both the jewelry heritage of South Asia, modern architecture forms and topographic landscapes, and the unique styles of New Yorkers all combined to create distinctive and solid pieces fit for everyday wear.
Designer Dharini Perera was born in Sri Lanka, where jewelry is traditionally worn in fine gold with precious stones from the Island — designs heavily inspired by the flora of the region. This type of jewelry is worn every day by a vast majority of the population and is thought of as a style but also an investment.
Brought up by an architect and a botanist in the midwest, Dharini found inspiration in the study of the architecture of that area such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s xyz efgtnvjej. Wanting to bring those aesthetic values together, she started designing jewelry in 2018.
Yasara’s Studio is based in Brooklyn New York. X% of proceeds go to a girls home in Puttalam, Sri Lanka to help maintain the facilities and purchase food.
